When we were asked to redesign the barber shop logo, we came up with many concepts. In the end one was chosen.

About the Project

The L.A. County Arts Commission fosters excellence, diversity, vitality, understanding and accessibility of the arts in Los Angeles County, encompassing 88 municipalities, and provides leadership in cultural services. Group of Minds has been honored to work with the arts commission on several successful projects. Funded with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, 16 groups participated in a 5-month social media engagement workshop, using both online and in-person learning, with cirriculum designed and delivered by Group of Minds. Participating groups learned how to conduct marketing experiments, and each group designed and tested an experimental plan for a channel of their marketing. Groups were assessed at the start and end of the program, and the results show a significant increase in the marketing ability of those who participated in the program. The L.A. County Arts Commission recently decided to do a major redesign of their intranet, databases and external website, so that they could all talk to each other. By working with Group of Minds, the commission received a comprehensive report of the needs of all members of staff/departments in touch with the website (with data gathered over 40+ interview sessions). This information was processed by Group of Minds to create a detailed Request For Proposals (RFP) document to prospective website vendors, which was released to the public and is currently in process. Our process has helped the L.A. County Arts Commission to create stakeholders in the organization, which will greatly reduce friction when changing to the new system.
